We are Ed and Lou Sykes, born and bred (respectively) in Pembrokeshire.
After living away in London for a number of years in 2003 we saw and fell in love with Llys Meddyg, a Grade II listed Georgian coaching house. Captivated by its charm and convinced of its potential, we left our jobs to move back to Newport.
In the in-between years Llys Meddyg has seen a rigorous series of updates and renovations; Llys Meddyg now offers a restaurant, a cellar bar, a kitchen garden, and VisitWales 4 star and 2 AA rosettes accommodation.
Our intention has always been to create somewhere that we’d like to stay and eat ourselves, somewhere very comfortable but stylish in a down-to-earth way. Our location in Newport, Pembrokeshire is at the heart of what we do. We feel privileged to live in such an area of outstanding natural beauty and hope our guests can share the same sense of awe and wonder for the coast and mountains that are our neighbours. This location plays an important role in our menu planning and sourcing of produce; local providence is of great importance to us.
We feel that Llys Meddyg is truly a very special place to stay, and to eat, and we hope that you will too.
