The Cellar Bar
Our cosy flag-stoned cellar bar is a favourite spot for a pre and post dinner drink and also an atmospheric dining space.
This is the favourite haunt of many of our regulars and is also open to non residents. The cellar bar is a corner of Llys Meddyg in which to hide away; the cosy flagstoned cellar bar is situated on the lower ground floor and is accessed via steps from the main entrance hallway as well as via the courtyard linking to The Kitchen Garden room during exclusive-use events.
The intimate Red Room, with its log burner and inglenook fireplace is one of our favourite places for private dining for groups of up to sixteen as well a cosy fireside tables of two . While still enjoying the ambience of the bar area this cosy dining area enjoys an atmosphere of exclusivity and privacy.
In the winter months the cellar bar is a cosy spot for a quiet drink, and we also serve our menu here. If you would prefer to eat here rather than in the dining room, please let us know when you make your booking.
Visiting dogs are welcome in the Cellar Bar, but we do not insist that they order from the menu too.
As well as a regular drinks menu the bar is well stocked with Welsh tipples and specials such as the ‘Brecon’ range of spirits, Penderyn whisky and real ale from Penlon. During our busier times we also have our very local beer from the Gwaun Valley brewery. It only keeps for three days in the keg, so please help us drink it!
For more information or to make a booking for a meal in our cellar bar please do call us on 01239 820008 or contact us. We’re really looking forward to hearing from you soon.
