The Cellar Bar
Our cosy flag-stoned cellar bar is a favourite spot for a pre and post dinner drink and also an option for enjoying Llys Meddyg’s a la carte menu.
This is the favourite haunt of many of our regulars and is also open to non residents. The cellar bar is a corner of Llys Meddyg in which to hideaway; the cosy flagstoned cellar bar is situated on the lower ground floor and is accessed via steps from the main entrance hallway as well as via the courtyard which is linked to the kitchen garden room during exclusive-use events.
The intimate Red Room, with its log burner and inglenook fireplace is one of our favourite places for private dining for groups of up to sixteen. While still enjoying the ambience of the bar area this cosy dining area enjoys an atmosphere of exclusivity and privacy.
In the winter months the cellar bar is a cosy spot for a quiet drink, and we can also serve our a la carte menu here. Next to the bar we have a piano, perfect for parties and for those who fancy tickling the ivories!
Drinks list
As well as a regular drinks menu the bar is well stocked with Welsh tipples and specials such as the ‘Brecon’ range of spirits, Penderyn whisky and real ale from Penlon. During our busier times we also have our very local beer from the Gwaun Valley brewery. It only keeps for three days in the keg, so please help us drink it!
Opening times
The cellar bar is open from 6pm in conjunction with a la carte dining.
Currently the Cellar Bar is open Tuesdays – Saturdays.
